Type of engine :
NEVER USE AN ENGINE POWER HP HIGHER THAN INDICATED ON THE MANUFACTURER'S I.D. PLATE AS THIS COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL.
It is recommended that you choose an engine suitable for your principal boating activites. The recommended and maximum powers are given in the technical specifications.
Propeller :
Your engine may come equiped with a "standard" propeller. Ask your Zodiac dealer to assist you in choosing the optimum propeller for your principal use.
Installing the engine :

- Install the engine along the centreline of the boat, in the middle of the tightening plate (1) (see diagram)
- Fully tighten the brackets (2) by hand and check that they are still properly tightened after 15 minutes of running
- Secure the engine to the loop (4) on the engine tightening plate (1) with a safety cable (3).
Adjustments :
These adjustments must be performed when running. Check that the engine is at 90 degrees to the water when running at high speed. Adjust the position of the engine if necessary as shown on the diagram below.
Engine position

THE ENGINE POSITION CAN BE READJUSTED WHEN RUNNING DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER CONDITIONS (DIRECTION AND STRENGTH OF WIND, AND SEA STATE). CHECK THAT THE LOAD IS EVENLY DISTRIBUTED BEFORE ADJUSTING THE ENGINE TRIM.

Engine height
The engine is mounted directly on the transom. For some types of engine, a shim is required to ensure the correct height:
- Engine adjusted too high = cavitation
- Engine adjusted too low = splashes
MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE POSITION IS CORRECT BEFORE BOLTING IT IN PLACE. THE ENGINE MUST BE BOLTED TO THE TRANSOM BY YOUR Zodiac® DEALER (RECOMMENDED FROM 30 H.P. AND UP).
